Austin man arrested for intoxication manslaughter after fatal crash

AUSTIN, Texas — A fatal crash in Austin early Sunday morning resulted in the death of Marvin Taylor, a 45-year-old man, and the arrest of Rodney Bremby, a 34-year-old man, for intoxication manslaughter.

On May 11, 2025, at approximately 1:05 a.m., officers from the Austin Police Department responded to a collision involving an SUV and a van in the 600 block of E. Koenig Lane. The SUV, driven by Bremby, rear-ended the van operated by Taylor, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a press release from the department.

This incident marks Austin’s 28th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 32 fatalities. In comparison, on the same date in 2024, there were 26 fatal crashes with 26 deaths.
