5/15/2025: Warm, a bit muggy, chance showers

The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:

Warm, cloudy, and ever so slightly humid this morning. Many of us didn’t drop below 60 overnight! There was also some fog in spots, especially south and west of Albany. That created interesting scenes like the one below in Germantown – for a time, visibility was so low that you couldn’t see the other side of the Hudson River!

A few breaks of sunshine around lunchtime will help temperatures shoot into the mid or upper 70’s. There could be a few pop up showers and downpours starting mid-afternoon, with perhaps one or two rumbles of thunder.

Tonight is another mild one, with dry but cloudy conditions. Lows only get into the low 60’s in the valleys, with mid to upper 50’s elsewhere.

After a dry start to the day Friday, more widespread showers and storms are expected Friday afternoon. A couple of them could be on the stronger side, with gusty winds and/or small hail.

Saturday looks very similar. Sunday could feature more showers, but it’s more of a springtime feel with less humidity, a breeze, and highs in the upper 60’s.

We stay in the 60’s for the start of the following work week. With low 60’s and a breeze, Monday may feel a bit brisk compared to this week’s warm stretch!…
