Judge weighs whether Shanquella Robinson wrongful death case should be in US or Mexico

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Nearly three years after Charlotte woman Shanquella Robinson died while on vacation in Mexico, her family is pushing for a civil lawsuit to be heard in the United States.

On Wednesday, May 14, a federal judge in Charlotte heard motions that could determine where the wrongful death lawsuit against the so-called “Cabo Six” will proceed.

Robinson, 25, died in October 2022, while staying at a luxury villa in Cabo San Lucas with six other people. Video later emerged showing Robinson being attacked, and her family has long claimed her death was not an accident…
