Knoxville leaders approve $1M for a new greenway that will connect two sections of the First Creek Greenway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation said North Broadway sees around 17,000 cars a day. It’s a section of that road was identified by Vision Zero, Knoxville’s effort to eliminate pedestrian deaths across the city, as a high-injury segment with a history of injuries and fatal crashes.

Tuesday night, the Knoxville City Council approved investing $1 million in a greenway project that will travel along North Broadway.
