MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — 12 new corrections officers will be joining the Escambia County team after graduating from George Stone Criminal Justice Training Center.

“These graduates have worked hard and shown exceptional dedication to public service,” Escambia County Corrections Captain Shawn Hankins said. “We are proud to have twelve of them join our team, and we look forward to their success.”
After completing a difficult 420-hour training course, the new Escambia County Corrections graduates have obtained skills that combined the efforts of academic studies, physical training, and hands-on certifications.
The required curriculum covered key subjects such as defensive tactics physical fitness, and specialized certifications such as CPR, first aid, and firearms as well as coursework that covered the legal, ethical and procedural aspects of corrections work.
