Weather forecast: Warm air and storms return

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – We are going on another warm stretch today and tomorrow with temperatures getting well into the 70s. There will be a chance for storms coming in later today, but those will be isolated. Keep an eye to the sky.

There is a line of severe thunderstorms on the way tonight for Michigan. It arrives here early Friday morning, but loses strength as it crosses the region.

After that, temperatures are off to the races. We surge into the upper 70s and potentially lower 80s. The heat could inspire an afternoon shower or storm, but most are dry. The trailing cold front will arrive Saturday morning.

Expect a few showers and thunderstorms along the cold front early Saturday, but it looks to move out relatively quickly. Colder air rushes in behind the front going into the afternoon and overnight. Our low pressure center will be locate northeast of Lake Ontario by this point, and that will mean a breezy finish to the weekend with temperatures stuck in the 50s most of the day. The sun is out Monday, but it’s cold. Temperatures are in the 40s most of the day. Next week is trending drier…
