Sacramento fire crews battle two-alarm blaze in empty building

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A two-alarm commercial fire broke out early Thursday morning. It started around 5:45 a.m. near Howe Avenue and Sierra Boulevard in Sacramento.

According to Mark Nunez, Sacramento Metro Fire PIO, the building was empty when the fire started. The fire began inside and worked its way up to the attic.

Crews worked to tackle the blaze, which reportedly affected one of the building’s structures. The size and exposure of the building caused the 2-alarm call out, but firefighters kept the fire to one part of the building…
