Woman pleads guilty to charges related to attempted kidnapping at BR Hospital

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A woman charged in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a baby from Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital has taken a plea deal, avoiding jail time.

Dinesty Selmon pled guilty to count two of unauthorized entry of a place of business. Under those circumstances, she is on active supervised probation for three years.

In addition, she is required to continue all of the following:

  • Mental and psych treatment
  • Engage in treatment and therapy
  • Stay away from the hospital
  • Effective Decision-Making Course
  • Anger management
  • 50 hours of community service
  • Maintain employment or student status
