The Austin Police Department is requesting assistance from the community in apprehending a suspect linked to a recent robbery incident. The robbery, which is detailed in a press release issued on May 14th, took place at a Chevron Gas Station located at 400 S. Congress Ave., in the early hours of April 30.
As per the information provided by the APD, the incident unfolded between 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m., during which the victim was forcibly deprived of his wallet. In the aftermath, it was found that the victim’s credit card was used to buy cigarettes from a nearby station, indicating a potential link to the suspect described, who was caught on surveillance.
The suspect is a black male, assumed to be between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5′ 5″ and weighing between 150-170 pounds. The individual, captured in the released photos, is bald, sports a black mustache and beard, and was last seen wearing a black “Juneteenth” themed t-shirt paired with blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
