WORCESTER, Mass. – May 2020. Colonial Bowling on Mill Street announced they’d be closing their doors for good. The pandemic just one of multiple factors all contributing to the end of Worcester’s last candlepin bowling alley.
“It’s just so unpredictable what’s going to happen come the fall, and that’s when we have our league season start in September,” Paul Wambach said at the time. Wambach was Colonial’s General Manager. “We weren’t able to get our summer league going this summer. So, we’re completely shut down. We’ve been shut down since the middle of march.”
