Congratulations are in order for a new place that is about to open in Guthrie, Oklahoma. This isn’t your typical coffee shop. Oklahoma will officially have two cat cafes in the state.
19-year-old Nicky Teague took her love for cats to an entirely new level by partnering with her mother and Media Manager, Madelyn Teague, renovating a historical spot in downtown Guthrie and opening her very own ‘coffee and cuddles’ spot. After months of construction work, they’ve finally been able to open their doors to the public.
On Tuesday, May 20, the Teagues will be hosting their soft opening of their very own cat cafe in Guthrie. They’ve partnered with their local animal shelters to bring in adoptable kittens and cats to their lounge area. There, visitors can spend some much-needed quality time with the animals.
Meow & Mocha in Guthrie is currently the largest cat cafe in the state.
They’ve made lots of space for their cats with a 2,000 square foot cat lounge. Inside the cat lounge, they’ve brought in a theatre screen, community library and board games to play. Eventually, the plan is to install video games in the cafe soon for visitors to enjoy…
