Lubbock, Texas— Our friends with the Salvation Army are celebrating National Salvation Army week fighting for the good and of course, giving back.
Erica Perry the director of social services of the Salvation Army told everythinglubbock.com said this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive that happened this past weekend, the Lubbock community really showed up for their West Texas neighbors in need. The food drive and collected 47, 000 pounds of food.
Perry said that was enough to fully stock their shelter’s pantry and Hope on the Go boxes, “And that is just that just shows us how wonderful the community of Lubbock is. Since we have so much food, we wanted to go ahead and put it out to the community. Those that are in need, those that are, you know, facing insecurity and just so they could come and get what they want, do their own shopping. “…
