A New York City resident, Cheick Diarra, has pleaded guilty to his involvement in a shootout that occurred in Albany last October. The 21-year-old from the Bronx admitted to exchanging gunfire with an unknown man on October 19, 2024, near Madison Avenue and Ontario Street. The altercation began after a dispute with the stranger, who drew a handgun, leading to both men firing shots at each other.
During the incident, another man was wounded and treated at Albany Medical Center. Diarra also sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen and received medical attention. On Thursday (May 15), Diarra pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in Albany County Court.
