RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A seat replacement project for sections of The Byrd Theatre will recommence in May with plans to last until September.
Courtesy of The Byrd Theatre Foundation, work to replace seats on the left and right sides of the auditorium will start on Monday, May 19, and run until Sept. 5.
The project will include fully replacing the current seats with wider seats, as well as restoring cast-iron end aisle standards, designed to match the updated seats in the auditorium’s center section and balcony, according to a release.
