Caltrans urges Sacramento area drivers to leave early amid major construction slowdowns

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — If your daily drive feels longer lately, you’re not alone. Caltrans is warning Sacramento area drivers to prepare for significant delays due to multiple construction projects causing congestion across major freeways.

Three major infrastructure upgrades are now underway, including Yolo 80 Pavement Rehab, the Yolo 80 Managed Lanes Project, and Fix 50. All are aimed at replacing aging roadways, but the traffic impact has been immediate and frustrating for drivers.
