Woman gets 37 months for not paying Salem business taxes, COVID-19 relief fraud

A California woman was sentenced May 15 to 37 months in federal prison for stealing $1.3 million in COVID-19 relief funds and failing to pay the Internal Revenue Service more than $700,000 in payroll taxes for a Salem business.

Jamie McGowen, 43, was also sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered to pay $2,072,860 in restitution to the IRS and Small Business Administration.
