Family’s Favorite City Is a Surprise

Vegas, Baby! Family Fun in Sin City

Seasoned travelers, especially those with kids, often debate the best family vacation spots. Having explored 44 states and over two dozen countries with my husband and son, I can confidently say: Las Vegas is a winner!

While “Sin City” might evoke images of adults-only entertainment, its over-the-top attractions and proximity to natural wonders make it surprisingly perfect for families. My tween son begs to return, and the whole family agrees.

A Feast for the Senses: Themed Resorts

Vegas hotels are an experience in themselves. On a recent trip, we snagged a Paris Las Vegas room for under $100 a night.

Deals on luxurious accommodations are surprisingly common, especially during the off-season. We even scored an upgrade to a 1,000-square-foot suite with stunning views of the Sphere.

Even my tween was impressed!

Strolling the Strip and exploring the themed resorts is a must. From the New York-New York roller coaster to the Caesars Palace buffets and the mesmerizing Bellagio fountains, there’s endless entertainment.

World-Class Entertainment for All Ages

Vegas earns its title as the “Entertainment Capital of the World.” We’ve been captivated by Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatics, Penn & Teller’s magic, and the mind-bending art at Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart. With so much variety, there’s something for every age and interest.

Desert Adventures Beyond the Strip

Beyond the glitz and glamour, natural beauty awaits. Just 25 minutes from downtown, the vibrant Seven Magic Mountains art installation is a must-see. We’ve also enjoyed hikes in the stunning Valley of Fire State Park, about an hour away.

Vegas also serves as a great base for day trips. We’ve explored Death Valley National Park in California and Zion National Park in Utah, both about two hours away. The scenic drives are incredible, and it’s amazing to return to Vegas’s comforts after a day of adventure.

Affordable Flights Seal the Deal

Nonstop flights from our home in Orlando are plentiful and affordable. Round-trip fares on budget airlines can be as low as $120, making it even easier to justify another Vegas getaway.
