26-year-old inmate arrested after attempting to escape from loading bus: KCSO

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An inmate was re-arrested Wednesday after Kern County sheriff’s deputies say he attempted to escape by hiding underneath a bus.

Around 12:50 p.m., Maminder Singh, 26, was arrested after allegedly sneaking under the inmate transport bus during a loading procedure and attempting to hide. Sheriff’s deputies said Singh began screaming as the bus started to depart, prompting a quick investigation.

Singh was clinging on underneath the bus and was pulled out by sheriff’s deputies. He sustained moderate injuries and is facing felony charges.
