Bremerton senior track and field standout Rylee Wheaton is already in the record books for the girls shot put. Now she wants the state title that proved to be just out of her reach in 2024.
“I’m so much stronger this year,” Wheaton said after winning last week’s Olympic League 2A title.
Wheaton wasn’t speaking about being stronger just in a physical sense. She believes she’ll be more prepared mentally to deal with a state title pursuit when Bremerton heads to Mount Tahoma High School for the 4A/3A/2A state meet May 29-31. The Knights will host next week’s West Central District 2A championships on May 21 and 23…
