Deadly Bombing at California Fertility Clinic Declared Act of Terrorism

Palm Springs, California – A devastating car bomb explosion outside a Southern California fertility clinic on Saturday has left one person dead and four injured in what authorities are now calling an intentional act of terrorism. The blast occurred shortly before 11:00 a.m. local time outside the American Reproductive Centers (ARC), less than a mile from downtown Palm Springs.

The FBI has identified the attack as terrorism, citing writings and actions by the suspect, who died in the explosion. “Make no mistake: This is an intentional act of terrorism,” said Akil Davis, the head of the FBI’s Los Angeles field office during a news conference. Authorities believe the individual, whose identity has not been officially released, acted alone. Investigators are not seeking any additional suspects.

Law enforcement officials said the suspect left behind rambling online writings opposing population growth and in vitro fertilization (IVF). He reportedly attempted to record or livestream the explosion, with an iPhone found standing on a tripod near the blast site.
