Sacramento Smackdown, K9 Ronan Sniffs Out 54 Pounds of Fentanyl, Perris Man Slapped with $1M Bail

In a significant bust by local law enforcement, a traffic stop in southern Sacramento County led to the seizure of an alarming amount of fentanyl. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office announced that 54 pounds of powdered fentanyl were discovered during the stop, which took place earlier this week. The discovery was made possible thanks to the work of Sheriff’s K9 Ronan, who detected the narcotics.

Following the K9 alert, a thorough search of the vehicle revealed two duffel bags filled with 23 bricks of the drug. The suspect, 31-year-old Hector Nunez from Perris, California, is now facing serious charges. Nunez was arrested and has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail with bail set at $1,000,000, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
