According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, dry conditions will dominate the northwest Panhandles today, with the highest sustained winds expected in the northern and western counties, including Boise City, Stratford, and Dalhart. Wind speeds there may range from 25 to 35 mph, while Amarillo and surrounding cities like Pampa and Borger can expect 20 to 25 mph breezes through the evening.
Beaver, Guymon, and Canadian are also seeing highs between 89°F and 90°F, increasing fire weather concerns across the region.
