Gusty dry winds keep fire danger high through Monday for Northern California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Weather conditions forecast for the Sacramento region will continue to favor dry gusty conditions keeping fire danger high. The greatest risk of rapidly spreading fires is for elevations below 1,000 feet. Fuels are drying quickly with brief pops of heat this past month.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday for the Central and Southern Sacramento Valley below 1,000 feet, Carquinez Strait and Delta and the Northern San Joaquin Valley below 1,000 feet.
