Amarillo Police: Pedestrian killed in wreck; driver charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Police Department reports that a 34-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning after being hit by a vehicle in southwest Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, officers responded around 6:40 a.m. to the 2100 block of South Coulter Street, where a southbound white Buick Enclave left the roadway and hit Brandon Waugh. Waugh of Amarillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office said Sunday.

Officials said the vehicle continued south and came to rest in a gravel driveway in the 2000 block of Coulter.

APD detailed that the driver, 35-year-old Brett Hudson, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of “Intoxicated Manslaughter.” Amarillo Police said speed and narcotics were contributing factors in the crash…
