Lewisville Ramps Up for Fiesta Charra: A Free Cultural Celebration at Bill Weaver Arena with Rodeo, Music, and Dance

In partnership with Vivid Vita Events, the City of Lewisville is set to host the much-awaited Fiesta Charra on May 25 from 4 pm to a starlit wrap-up at 10:30 pm. This cultural extravaganza pledges to pack a punch with a slew of performances and activities that celebrate the zest and vivacity of Mexican traditions.

One of the event’s highlights is the traditional Charreada, unlike the American rodeo, this sport has its roots deep in the heritage of Mexico, and it promises to be a spectacular show. According to the City of Lewisville’s official announcement, the family-friendly affair will throw in a kaleidoscope of attractions, including Ballet Folklorico, a riveting Escaramuza Charra, and if you thought mutton bustin was purely a Texan thing, think again. Plus, a horse dancing show that’s bound to get hooves tapping and audiences clapping. In case your taste buds are feeling left out, there’s a jalapeno-eating contest, sponsored by Chisos Boots, and the spicy victor scores a gift certificate for some fresh kicks.

A shebang of musical acts awaits too, with ‘Selena Forever’ headlining, alongside a cadre of auditory delights like Javier Aguilar, Dany Yori and his Rezzios, and Toty and Andy setting the mood.
