San Antonio was home to some of the highest foreclosure rates in April

San Antonio had one of the worst foreclosure rates in the country last month, according to a recent study.

ATTOM, which provides nationwide property data, released its April 2025 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report this week, collecting foreclosure filings from more than 3,000 counties across the U.S. There were a total of 36,033 foreclosed properties in April, including default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions. This was a nearly 14 percent increase from last year.

“April’s foreclosure activity continued its gradual climb, with both starts and completions up annually,” said Rob Barber, CEO at ATTOM. “While volumes remain below historical norms, the year-over-year increases may suggest that some homeowners are beginning to feel the effects of persistent economic pressures.”…
