‘Voice Of Toledo’ Bob Kelly Passes Away On 84th Birthday.

Well-known Toledo radio host Bob Kelly passed away on Thursday, May 15, his 84th birthday, at his home. Kelly (Norman Plumer), who suffered from Parkinson’s disease, had been in rehab after a fall that caused a fractured hip but was back home when he died, his wife, Linda Plumer, told the Toledo Blade.

“He was funny and he was so creative,” former colleague Matt Zaleski said. “He [often] didn’t have a script. He just had little notes on scraps of paper. And he would wind his way through with these itty-bitty notes. But he was always so darn funny.”

Kelly, who was known as “The Voice of Toledo,” was heard in the market for nearly 50 years. He retired in 2011, signing off from “The Morning Show with Bob and Becky” on WRQN…
