CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two suburbs went years without paying Cleveland for providing fire and EMS services. Turns out, Cleveland may not have been sending the bills regularly.
Bratenahl and Linndale racked up more than $1 million worth of bills collectively, prompting Cleveland’s safety director to send letters to both villages in October. After that letter, both municipalities quickly paid in full or got on a payment plan.
Which begs the question, why did these bills pile up for so long?…
