Leesburg’s Planning Commission on May 15 approved a drive-thru window for a 10,000 square foot proposed building that includes an eating establishment in the Shenandoah Square Shopping Center by Edwards Ferry Road near the Floor and Décor.
Zoned for commercial uses, the building is approved by-right, but approval for a drive-thru window addition required a special exception. The eating establishment, a fast-food spot whose user is yet to be determined, occupies 5,000 square feet of the building. The drive-thru is located on the building’s east side along the Rt. 15 Bypass.
Deputy Planning Director Brian Boucher said during the May 15 Planning Commission meeting that the town is likely looking at $89,000 in tax revenue from the site. He added that the building is a good distance away from residential uses and is compatible with the town plan…
