Man sentenced to 13 years in prison after firing gun at couple in DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A D.C. man was sentenced to prison for shooting at two people who officials say were out celebrating their anniversary in the Columbia Heights neighborhood just over two years ago.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) of D.C., 49-year-old Adrian Lee shot a couple after an accident on April 18, 2023.

The USAO said that the victims were driving home after celebrating their anniversary at a restaurant in D.C. when Lee’s wife sideswiped their car.

Evidence showed that Lee walked to the scene of the accident and gave the victim an expired insurance card. The victim called their insurance company, but then Lee became “agitated” because it was taking too long and told his wife to drive away. He also left the scene of the accident on foot…
