AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – The main lobby of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta is open again after months of renovations.
The $2 million-dollar construction project started back in August 2024. Among the changes, crews painted and replaced the floor and ceiling tiles and removed a big fountain that hadn’t worked in 15 years.
According to the hospital, it’s all in an effort to make the environment the best it can be for the children.

“It’s been phenomenal because it’s been it’s night and day. What you see here now from what we had, it is just phenomenal,” said Chris Miller, Director of Facilities. “The finishes are just a level that we did not have before. All the way from removing the fountain, as I mentioned, to the new desk for the greeters. It’s just we’ve made everything to accommodate everyone here.”…
