Detroit transit centers get metal detectors, more police officers to improve safety

DETROIT – The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) has implemented new security measures at the two major Detroit transit centers.

“Safety is paramount on all DDOT buses and at all DDOT locations,” said Corie Holmes, the chief safety officer for DDOT. “These new initiatives ensure that riders are protected, and they are safe at transit centers as well as on our coaches.”
