NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Grace Diaz, a Nashville native, went to college in Oregon and got a job in city planning. After deciding a desk job wasn’t for her, she joined the Navy. She went to Officer Candidate School where she learned what she needed to know to be ready for her future career.
“So, it’s a 13-week-long course up in Newport, Rhode Island, and it starts off very heavy on physical training, getting indoctrinated into the Navy, learning how to properly address people, learning how to pretty much just be in the Navy,” Diaz said.
