Brooklyn man indicted for stabbing death of Queens woman

FLATLANDS — SHAO TONG LIAN, a 41-year-old Brooklyn man, was indicted for the brutal August 2022 murder of 55-year-old Fang Chen, whom he allegedly stabbed to death in her Flushing apartment after arranging to pay for sex, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz Lian announced on May 16. Chen sustained four stab wounds to the neck, 10 stab wounds to the back, injuries to her right hand and a blunt injury to the brain. DNA evidence linked him to the crime, according to Katz.

Lian, charged with second-degree murder and weapon possession, faces up to 25 years to life. He is remanded and due back in court June 24.
