CORVALLIS, Ore. – Benton County deputies said they have made an arrest related to a shooting on May 17 that injured one man, and they are looking for another suspect.
According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:30 a.m. on May 19, a 911 caller reported a man had been shot in a car. BCSO officials described the suspected shooter as a short Hispanic female with long hair who was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt. Deputies said the male victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, where he is still recovering as of May 22.
According to the BCSO, on May 20, detectives found and arrested Julia Dell Yepez, 20, in Salem in connection to the shooting. Detectives are now searching for another person believed to be involved in the shooting, Alexa Montano Corral, 20. Deputies said Yepez and Corral used a dating app called Chispa to lure the victim into a meeting in order to steal from him. BCSO deputies also said Yepez and Corral are suspects elsewhere in Oregon for similar criminal activities…
