Cleveland man pleads guilty to charges in 2024 Amherst shooting

The day his trial was supposed to start in Lorain County Common Pleas Court, a Cleveland man pleaded guilty to shooting at a car in Amherst last year.

Lavelle Lewis, 30, of West 150th Street, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of felonious assault with a forfeiture specification, and to one count of criminal damaging, a misdemeanor.

Judge Giovanna Bremke accepted the plea, found Lewis guilty of the amended charges, and ordered a presentence investigation. According to court records, the conditions of his bond were amended to remove the requirement that Lewis wear a GPS monitor…
