ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke Police Department announced on Friday that they are launching Operation Summer Shield, which they call “a strategic summer initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through sustained and coordinated efforts involving felony warrant apprehension, targeted traffic enforcement, and proactive criminal interdiction.”
