Woman charged with fleeing court after sentencing indicted for felonious assault, escape

Kara Rose’s attempt at freedom after a judge in Toledo Municipal Court sentenced her to jail last week could end up putting her in state prison for more than a decade.

The Lucas County grand jury has indicted Ms. Rose, 33, for first-degree felonious assault and fifth-degree escape for the alleged incident May 15 in which authorities say she bolted from a courtroom and exited the courthouse into the judges’ parking lot, only to be thwarted by its secured gate.

During her flight, she allegedly struck a court deputy in the jaw, causing minor injury…
