Elderly man rescued after getting trapped from 2-car crash in Mililani

MILILANI, Hawaii (Island News) — An man in his 70s was rescued after being trapped in a car from an early morning crash involving two cars in Mililani.

The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) was dispatched to a Kamehameha Highway crash near Kipapa Gulch at 4:43 a.m. on Friday, May 23. Once firefighters arrived at the scene, paramedics had already begun to respond to the collision involving two cars with a 76-year-old man trapped in a car.

In order to rescue them, HFD stabilized the vehicle and used hydraulic rescue tools to safely remove them. They were able to successfully remove him and at 5:21 a.m., paramedics treated him for his serious injuries…
