LUBBOCK, Texas — The newest addition to Lubbock Fire Rescue, Fire Station 20, is opened. The new $8 million location is in South Lubbock, off of 142nd Street and Indiana Ave.
Assistant Fire Chief, Nick Wilson, said it took about two years of planning and construction to finish the project.

“We’re always looking at where the next fire station is going to be,” Chief Wilson explained. “We look at call volume, we’re looking at response times, travel, distance… all those factors go in to try to make that really strategic decision of where is the best location to put a fire station.”
The last new fire station was built back in 2014, and Chief Wilson said there have been a lot of updates since then…
