(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good Sunday morning! Happy raceday!!! We are tracking mostly cloudy skies this morning, along with a few spotty showers south of I-85. Due to increased cloud cover trapping heat from yesterday, temperatures are much warmer to start this morning. Temperatures only dropped into the 50s and 60s last night.
High temperatures will not climb much today, only rising into the low to mid-70s. Mostly cloudy skies will continue into the afternoon, and due to the northward-lifting warm front, shower chances will increase later in the day. Showers and storms will be hit-or-miss this evening, including for the Coca-Cola 600.
However, there is a better chance for more widespread coverage of showers and potential storms towards the end of the Coca-Cola 600 and overnight.
