Diddy’s Diet a Hot Topic at Trial: Applesauce on Cheeseburgers, Anyone?
Sean “Diddy” Combs’s unusual culinary preferences have become an unexpected focus in his ongoing sex-trafficking and racketeering trial. Testimony revealed the hip-hop mogul’s fondness for cheeseburgers, specifically topped with applesauce.
This quirky detail emerged during questioning of a former personal assistant, who confirmed Combs’s penchant for the unusual pairing. This isn’t the first cheeseburger-related testimony: another ex-assistant previously described Combs’s craving for the diner staple shortly before an alleged near-altercation with Suge Knight in 2008.
While the trial continues, Combs will be spending Memorial Day at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The holiday menu at the facility includes BBQ chicken and a “holiday dessert,” but sadly, no applesauce.
Combs, along with over 1,000 other inmates, will have the option of chicken and rice or tofu and rice for dinner. While barbecue sauce and soy sauce are available for purchase at the commissary, applesauce is notably absent.
The trial, which is expected to last several more weeks, carries serious implications. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and denies the allegations against him. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
