Deputy Faith Gunnell, who has been with the Office of the Sheriff in Franklin County less than a few months, was recently presented with an Award of Excellence by Sheriff Bill Overton for her role in saving the life of a recruit officer while attending basic academy school.
Deputy Gunnell’s colleague experienced a medical emergency that required intensive CPR and lifesaving measures. With EMT experience under her belt, Deputy Gunnell quickly commanded the scene, assisted with CPR on her colleague, and provided critical care while awaiting on local EMS providers to arrive on scene.
