Lincoln comes together to remember America’s heroes

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Organizers of the Memorial Day services around Lincoln have invited veterans and residents to gather and remember fallen soldiers in a special way.

“We barbecue, we go fishing, we camp and we ought to be able to celebrate in such a fashion,” said Dr. Gary Fuller, a Lincoln Chaplain. “But we can’t ever lose sight of the real reason for Memorial Day.”

Dr. Gary Fuller is an evangelist and chaplain for the Lincoln Police Department, Lancaster Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln Fire and Rescue. He says Memorial Day marks a time of remembrance, honor and gratefulness…
