Bindi Irwin’s Health Scare Revealed After Emergency Surgery

Additional Coverage:

Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, is recovering after undergoing emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. The procedure, which caused Irwin to miss the annual Steve Irwin Gala, revealed a more extensive health issue. Doctors discovered and addressed 14 lesions related to Irwin’s ongoing battle with endometriosis.

In a social media post, the 26-year-old conservationist expressed gratitude for the support she’s received while also highlighting the need for greater awareness and improved healthcare for women suffering from endometriosis. She described the condition as “crippling” and emphasized the importance of validating the pain experienced by those affected.

Irwin’s husband, Chandler Powell, offered his praise and support via social media, calling her a “warrior” for her strength and advocacy. Irwin responded with heartfelt thanks, expressing her desire to regain her health for her family.

Following the surgery, Irwin shared details of her medical journey, revealing that she had consulted with a specialist and decided to have the procedure in New York. In addition to her appendix removal and the endometriosis lesions, she also underwent a hernia repair. This recent surgery follows another procedure two years prior for endometriosis, during which 37 lesions and a cyst were removed.

This is not Irwin’s first public encounter with significant health challenges. In 2023, she revealed her endometriosis diagnosis and discussed the debilitating pain she had endured for over a decade before receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment.
