Police issues warning about operating golf carts on Hendersonville streets

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hendersonville has a speeding problem, but not in the way you’re probably thinking.

The police department is warning residents— specifically kids who are now on summer break— about the dangers of driving golf carts or motorbikes recklessly in neighborhoods.

“The biggest thing is, your [golf] cart has to meet certain requirements for a medium or low-speed vehicle, you need a licensed driver, and a lot of these kids aren’t meeting those requirements and they’re not following the operation of the roadway,” explained Sgt. Joshua Morrison with the Hendersonville Police Department.

Morrison said countless complaints have come from the Indian Lake area of Hendersonville in recent years, especially as the weather gets warmer…
