AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT)— Texas Panhandle War Memorial honored fallen service members with their Memorial Day Ceremony.
The guest speaker of the ceremony was Sgt Major Kharn Phetluangsy who read off the names of fallen heroes, a moment he said can be emotional because it never gets easier.
“You know, they died in 2019 but even today, as I was calling out their name, you know, it chokes me up to think about them, because, you know, their families have to carry on and miss them every year, every day. So, you know, one day out of the month or out of the year, you know, it’s just our job to carry on their legacy,” added Phetluangsy.
