MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — In the early morning hours of Monday, May 26, keen observation and swift action by Murfreesboro police led to the arrest of two men following a reported car break-in at Chelsea Place Apartments on Bradyville Pike.
Around 1:24 a.m., residents alerted authorities to suspicious activity in the parking lot, describing loud banging noises and two individuals using flashlights to peer into parked vehicles. Responding officers quickly arrived on the scene and intercepted a vehicle attempting to leave the complex.
Inside the car were Damon Moody, 21, of Murfreesboro, and Fredrick Gates, 21, of Smyrna. Both men were detained and eventually arrested. According to authorities, the pair now face multiple charges, including burglary, possession of burglary tools, theft up to $1,000, simple possession/casual exchange, and vandalism up to $1,000.
