Lincoln pools remain closed due to cold weather

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Typically, the Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start to summer as school ends, the weather has warmed up, and pools open. The City said last Thursday that its pools would be delayed until Tuesday due to the forecasted chilly weather. With temperatures only expected in the lower 60s Tuesday afternoon, the City announced that pool openings are now delayed until Wednesday – weather permitting.

City policy requires a high temperature of at least 70° for pools to open. The forecast, according to the 10/11 Severe Weather Center, for Wednesday is a high of 68° with more sunshine – though we’ll continue to see some chances for rain into the day on Tuesday. Pools will definitely open this week, as temperatures are forecasted to become much more seasonal through the week…
