Rainy conditions drag into Wednesday in the Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — We’re starting the day with cloudy skies, patchy drizzle, and areas of fog. While the early morning commute is going to be spared steady rain, we are expecting some showers to return for the late morning and lunch hour.

A warm front will cross the state from south to north later today. We will continue to see cloudy skies with areas of fog into the mid-afternoon hours. Closer to dinnertime, temperatures will warm to the lower-70s and we may have some sunshine to enjoy before the sun sets at 8:29 pm.

Mostly cloudy skies are ahead for the overnight hours with lows in the lower 60s.

Thursday will be warm and muggy, with highs near 80°. Skies are likely to remain mostly cloudy through the afternoon and there is a 20% chance of showers or perhaps an isolated thunderstorm…
